Just in time for Christmas, H&M has announced its latest designer collaboration: Sonia Rykiel for H&M. And for the first time, this collection will be lead by lingerie. The lingerie collection will launch in 1,500 H&M stores Dec. 5 and — another first — will be available in Sonia Rykiel boutiques around the world. The French house founded by the "Queen of Knits" will then release a second collection featuring an iconic knitwear collection for women and girls (1.5 to 8 years old) as well as playful accessories on Feb. 20, 2010.

MAC Cosmetics - Dsquared2

Every season the fashion crowd is up and on the run, crazy for the fierce and sexy fun we've come to expect from designers Dan and Dean Caten, the Canadian twins who know how to pack a punch - and throw a party! With their haute hi-jinx and body-beautiful clothes for boys and girls, a collaboration with MAC simply could NOT be avoided! "DSquared2 and MAC are on the same trip!" says Dan. This collection brings us to the Ziegfield Follies by way of Grey Gardens, a bit disheveled, a little Girl Interrupted, both dramatically hip and dangerously sexy. It starts with a strong, sooty, blackest-ever wild-child eye...a new Greasepaint Stick also in blue and violet versions, and Pro Gloss to create it. Neutral and perfected skin will get more drama with highlighting and low lighting from Sculpt and Shape Powders and the 165 Tapered Cheek/Highlight Brush all the better to achieve it. And finally, the totally nude Pro Lip Erase does its stuff, followed by a light Lipstick and Lip Conditioner to put the lilt and lift back in.... But the cynosure of this season's scintillating collaboration is the daring, dramatic slightly demented DSquared2 eye.

Nude Rose - Light neutral pink (Lustre)
Blood Red - Clean deep berry (Lustre)

Hot Mess Monday - Ashanti

Is it hot in here or is it just the hot mess I'm looking at? Ashanti is having an identity crisis. She apparently thinks she is Rihanna. Darling, get real. You look like crap. Rihanna wouldn't even look good in that.

Nice giant feather earring...no, I'm totally kidding...they are almost as hideous as your horrendous boots.
Honey, go home to Nelly before I throw up.
Happy Monday!

Fabulous Friday - Victoria Beckham

Darling, you have redeemed yourself. I can not express how much I love this dress. It is simply stunning. Proving that she is her own best model, Victoria Beckham rocked the Burberry Prorsum runway show at London Fashion Week in this stunning dress from her own collection.

I loved the exposed zipper at the back and the fact that she wore it with fabulous YSL patent pumps. This is immaculate.

Happy Friday!

Fall Beauty Trend: Jade Nails

I'm sure you spotted this trend on the runways and red carpets at New York Fashion week, as well as London Fashion week. This is definitely a big fall trend – jade nails. Let’s get it right – JADE nails, not forest green or neon green. It is all about minty jade shades. Where did this trend even begin, you ask? It all started on the Chanel catwalk. Peter Phillips, The Global Creative Director of Chanel Makeup created it for a one-off F/W ’09 show. So many beauty junkies and fashion fanatics loved Le Vernis Nail Color in Jade (shown above in pic) so much that it is now available for retail. Of course it may be next to impossible for you to snag your very own bottle of the limited edition said nail colour, you can opt for other brand such as OPI Matte Nail Polish in Gargantuan Green Grape or Illasmasqua Nail Vernish in Milf.

Hot Mess Monday: Ugly Times Three

This is what Cate Blanchett decided to wear to the opening of the Screen Worlds exhibition in Melbourne, Australia. This brings tears to my eyes. It is quite possible the ugliest outfit in the history of fashion. If you don't agree with me - we can not be friends anymore.

Here is Mischa Barton at the What Goes Around Comes Around collection party in NYC. I hate the colour of this Hervé Léger body-con dress. I also hate the pattern. It is just altogether heinous. Please also take a good look at her face, it looks like death. On the verge of another breakdown, Mischa??

Here is Drew Barrymore looking extremely hideous with her two tone hairstyle. I can't express in words how ugly her hair looks. She looks like a rebellious teenager. Nice teal tights honey. FUG.
Happy Monday...

Fabulous Friday - Ciara

Happy Friday!! Here is Ciara working it at New York Fashion Week. She looks fabulous in a black embellished LBD and nude Christian Louboutin (love) pumps. I also really love her hair long and wavy. She made a few appearances at New York Fashion Week and she looked amazing everywhere she went. She definitely has class. Nice work, Ciara.

Chanel Coco Cocoon

Lily Allen is the face of the new handbag line, Chanel Coco Cocoon, which is set to debut in October of this year. The line brings a fun twist to Chanel handbags as the bags are reversible. And straying from the expected, the Coco Cocoon line sports puffy leather. Lily Allen looks regal in a campaign for Chanel's forthcoming handbag. The company is no stranger to Lily; indeed Karl Lagerfeld has been a fan for some time. The German-born designer says: 'She looks a lot like Gabrielle Chanel and she is a self-made woman. She is cool, young and extremely witty. She is extremely inspiring and is completely taken with the bags - with her typical English casualness!'
I have never thought of Lily Allen as someone who could model for such a high class line, but she looks unrecognizable in the photographs, and I must say they are phenomenal - very Audrey Hepburn.
What do you think of Chanel's new line of handbags?

PS. I just came across this picture and I wanted to share it with everyone. I think it is hilarious. love it!

Makeup Junkie Heaven: Murale

I have been meaning to post about Murale for about a week now; better late than never, right? Murale opened up to the public on September 4th and I decided to drag my boyfriend for a little shopping spree on the 5th. I absolutely loved it. It is very similar to Sephora, but it is less crowded with fixtures so it is much more shopper friendly. It is packed with great brands such as Nars, Benefit, Smashbox and much more. They also have a full range of Chanel and YSL make up, something that Sephora in Canada is lacking. The store is also fully equipped with any brand of perfume or cologne that you may be looking for. The store also offers some great services such as personalized beauty services by Murale, Benefit Brow Bar, professional skincare services by Natura Bisse, Sensation Chocolat Paris and Clarins, and professional botanical skin care services by Darphin. Murale is located at Shops at Don Mills and is owned by Shoppers Drug Mart so with every purchase you can collect Optimum Points! Be sure to check it out!

M∙A∙C Cosmetics Designs Exclusive Tattoo Makeup Seen at the Rodarte Spring/Summer 2010 Runway Show

WHAT: M∙A∙C Senior Artist, Chantel Miller designed the Maori-inspired geometric tattoo makeup seen on the runways at the Rodarte Spring/Summer 2010 runway show today. Chantel worked in close collaboration with designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy and key makeup artist James Kaliardos (for M∙A∙C) over the course of 4 weeks to create the full-sleeve, half-sleeve and neck tattoo designs, which are meant to evoke the feeling of a futuristic tribe.

HOW: The morning of the show, Chantel, who specializes in body painting, spent 4 intensive hours with a team of 40 artists hand painting the elaborate body art. Each model received a customized combination of the designs depending on which look they were wearing in the show. There were; 4 different full-sleeve, 1 neck and 8 half-sleeve designs. To get the look Chantel recommends trying a combination of the below products. She says, “Application is key to creating a body-art look like this, so the brushes play an essential part.”

M∙A∙C PRODUCTS USED: PRO Micronized Airbrush in Black Black
Brush 252
Brush 242
PRO Mixing Medium/Alcohol Base
Liquidlast Liner in Point Black

WHY: “The idea for the tattoos stemmed from Kate and Laura’s desire to celebrate makeup as art not only for the face, but also for the body in a similar way that Indian culture uses henna. They want women to look at makeup as an accessory for an outfit the way you would a bracelet or a necklace,” said Chantel Miller.

Lips, nails, eyes - there's no more dramatic way to declare your desire, separate your sensibility, celebrate your magnetism. Hot Mess Monday - Victoria Beckham, Rihanna and Taylor Momsen

This Monday we have three times the fun. These outfits were so bad that I had to post them immediately. First up we have Victoria Beckham...

Vicky, I love you, but this is too much. First off, the eye make up...why? Seriously, why?! Why do you need so much?! You look like you have two black eyes!! Next, the outfit and shoes. Although thigh high boots are the "it" thing...these Gucci's make me think of dirty hookers...is that strange? Paired with that dress, she should have left Fashion Night Out at Bergdorf Goodman's and gone to the corner...

Next up we have Rihanna...

The alien has landed. Rihanna's style has gotten crazier and crazier. I hate this hooded dress and the studded booties. Don't even get my started on her sunglasses. All I want to know is....can you see?! Where is her stylist?! Someone help her!!!

Last, but not least...ladies and gentlemen...may I present to you Taylor Momsen...age 16...

Courtney Love in training...I think her mother is getting parenting tips from Dina Lohan. Taylor will be in rehab by the time she is 19, if not sooner. If this girl isn't a hot mess, then I don't know what is...

Happy Monday!!

I absolutely love every single dress from Beckham’s collection. They are all so simple and chic. If you haven’t already checked out her designs, be sure to do so!

Happy Friday everyone!

Three Makeup Tips for a Slim Face

Whether you need to lose weight or were just blessed - or cursed - with a round face, there are a number of makeup tricks you might be able to use to slim the appearance of your face considerably.

Makeup Step #1: Begin with your eyes. Make your eyes stand out with the skillful application of eye shadow and mascara. Do the same with your eyebrows. Do not overly pluck your eyebrows, so that they are little more than thin lines. Instead, allow them to have a bit of fullness.

Makeup Step #2: Do not forget to also spend a bit of time on your cheekbones. Ideally, you will apply sculpting powder not only to your cheekbones, but also to the jaw line. An old makeup trick furthermore suggests the use of sculpting powder for the sides of the nose, but only if this fits in with the overall impression the sculpting powder offers. After all, you do not want your rounded face to have a chiseled looking nose but hardly-there cheekbones.
As a general rule, it is wise to avoid the overuse of sculpting powder and blush. Although they can go well together, if you do not apply them expertly, you end up with an odd look that is either uneven, striped, or both. Play around with these beauty products under harsh lights, so you get a good feel of the amount to apply, the brushstrokes to use, and also where to concentrate your efforts. Spending a bit of time at the onset makes this an easy enough procedure later on.

Makeup Step #3: Last but not least, plump your lips. After accentuating the eyes and sculpting the cheeks, you need to also draw attention to the lower portion of the face. This is easily done by using a lip plumper and also applying lip gloss over your lipstick to the middle portion of your lower lip. This is a great way to draw attention away from the roundest portion of your face.

Hope this helps!

Lindsay Lohan for Emanuel Ungaro

Lindsay Lohan got a job! In efforts to rejuvenate Emanuel Ungaro has teamed up chief designer Estrella Archs and “artistic advisor” Lindsay Lohan. The Spanish designer and the actress/singer/attention seeker are to present their very first collection at Paris Fashion week on October 4th. The brand has been very unstable since 2004 and is in desperate need to some media attention, thus the reason why Lindsay Lohan is to join the team. Lohan claims that she hope to take the brand to a “younger place”. I pray that that doesn’t mean a collection of leggings. She went on to say: “When I’m involved in a project, I give my all to it. I feel like there’s a correlation between everything I do, whether it’s pop music or film. I’ve always played a big part in what I wear, the costumes. Clothing is something that’s so expressive in so many ways. It really interests me. “

Good idea? I think not.
