Fabulous Friday - Khloe Kardashian

Ok, I know I posted Khloe Kardashian as the Fabulous Friday celeb just a few weeks ago, but she has been looking is amazing lately and I feel the need to give her credit. Also, how hot is that dress?I love it! Khloe really rocked this LBD by Alexander Wang at a charity event in Vegas. She paired it with simple pointed toe pumps and immaculate make up and hair, as per usual.

Happy Friday!!

Tanning Bed Addicts Beware!!

Ladies, here is an article by Megan Ogilvie, health report for The Star. I hope it scares the sh*t out of you.
Tanning beds are as deadly as mustard gas, arsenic, plutonium and other known carcinogens, international cancer experts have ruled.
The International Agency for Research on Cancer yesterday moved UV tanning beds and ultraviolet radiation to its highest cancer risk category, removing any ambiguity about their threat by labeling them "carcinogenic to humans."
The move was based on a comprehensive review of studies, which found the risk of skin melanoma increases by 75 per cent when the use of tanning devices starts before the age of 30.
The report, by the agency's Cancer Monograph Working Group, was published online yesterday in the medical journal Lancet Oncology. The agency is the cancer arm of the World Health Organization.
Until now, ultraviolet radiation and UV tanning equipment have been classified as "probably carcinogenic to humans." The new classification places them alongside other known cancer-causing agents, including asbestos, benzene and the human papillomavirus.
Cancer experts and advocacy groups welcomed the elevated classification.
"This is important ... it is another piece of evidence one can point to from a very conservative and eminent body," said Dr. David Hogg, a cancer physician at Princess Margaret Hospital. "It doesn't change my opinion, which is tanning beds are a dangerous carcinogen and should not be used at all.
"I'm seeing increasing numbers of young people who use tanning beds who come to my clinic with melanoma, particularly young women." A 2008 study by the U.S. National Cancer Institute found the annual incidence of melanoma among young women had risen by 50 per cent since 1980, an increase Canadian experts said was likely also happening north of the border. Melanoma is the deadliest form of skin cancer. In 2009, some 5,000 Canadians will be diagnosed with it and almost 1,000 will die.
In Ontario, the Canadian Cancer Society is calling for restrictions on the industry, including an all-out ban for patrons under the age of 18.
"Raising the classification of tanning devices to the highest cancer risk category further supports the message that there's no safe way to get a tan," said Irene Gallagher Jones, a senior manager at the society's Ontario Division.
According to the Cancer society, artificial tanning lights can emit rays five times stronger than the midday sun.
The cancer society is also advocating for mandated standards for staff who operate tanning beds, a government-run registry of tanning equipment use, and restrictions on advertising to youth, such as ads promoting pre-prom tanning. Last year, Ontario MPP Khalil Ramal introduced a private member's bill calling for a similar ban, which is before the standing committee on social policy.
New Brunswick, Scotland, France, Germany and at least five Australian states have banned anyone under 18 from accessing artificial tanning equipment. In the U.S., 29 states have restrictions on youths using tanning beds, with many requiring parental consent.
Steven Gilroy, executive director of the Joint Canadian Tanning Association, which represents 1,200 tanning salons across Canada, dismissed the international agency's report.
"When you dive into the research ... there is no increased risk," he said. The tanning industry has recently promoted the moderate use of artificial tanning as a way to boost vitamin D levels, which tanning proponents say may be associated with lower risk of some forms of cancer.
But Hogg disagrees with the industry claims: "As far as I'm concerned, tanning beds are like cigarettes and the claims by the tanning industry that they are healthy echo claims by the cigarette industry a generation ago and, in my mind, have just as much validity."

If this doesn't make you stop using tanning beds then I don't know what will...

NARS Fall 2009 Make Up Collection

Ladies, here are the details for the NARS Fall 2009 make up collection...

NARS Fast Ride Lipstick - This seemingly dark purple may intimidate, but swipe it across

the lips and its true shade is revealed: a sheer mulberry. A color that falls somewhere

between an intense plum wine stain, and a moody, deep violet. I will definitely be getting this lipstick.

NARS Silk Road Duo Eye shadow - This new shade mirrors the hues from

traditional damask fabrics. Classic meets edgy in this new duo — an icy pink is paired with

a warm rose gold with golden flecks.

NARS Brumes Duo Eye shadow - These new hues perfectly capture the moody shades of a

cool twilight sky. Brumes pairs a velvety matte charcoal with a sparkling, blue state for a

smoky eye that is both confident and serene.

NARS Indian Summer Duo Eye shadow - A typical Indian summer comes as a surprise,

balmy sunshine meets brisk fall. Swipe the summery, frosted champagne shimmer

up to the brow, and line the upper lid with the autumnal

deep, matte mustard for a striking look, appropriate for every season.

NARS Mekong Single Eye shadow - This is the perfect

addition to the NARS woman's adventurous palette.

The intense, blackened espresso hue scattered with rose gold is a

study in contrasts. Applied liberty across the lid it exudes a sexy attitude, or applied

lightly, a simple, fashion-forward sophistication.

NARS Tokaido Express - This new hue is a cult classic in the making. Named after Japan’s

most heavily frequented high-speed rail route, this lacquer is an opulent blackened

amethyst doused with ultra-fine gold dust particles. This shade is to die for…I definitely

need to add this to my collection.

NARS Fall 2009 Collection is available online now at

www.narscosmetics.com and will be available in August at

NARS counters and at Sephora.com.

I love NARS so much and this collection excites me so much!!

Hot Mess Monday - Sienna Miller

Really, Sienna? My biggest issue with this outfit is the shoes. They remind of the Manolo Blahnik's that were cool like 9 years ago for about 5 minutes. Please refer to the picture below...
Hideous, right? I'm not shocked though - Sienna usually looks like a complete mess. Her outfit looks like something my mom would have dressed me in when I was 8 years old. Her hair and make up is b o r i n g. Boo, Sienna! Go home and stay there. Thanks.

Happy Monday...

OPI Matte Collection

OPI has a small collection of matte nail polishes, you didn't think they would miss out on the trend did you? Here are the colours starting from the top left:
Russian Navy
Lincoln Park After Dark (my all time favourite and most used nail polish)
You Don't Know Jacques!
Alpine Snow
La Paz-itively Hot
Gargantuen Green Grape

When using matte nail polish do not use a base coat, top coat, drying drops or hand lotion. It is a little high maintenance and tends to chip very quickly so, use it only when you want to make a statement.
This trend is not something I will be trying. I like my nails the same way I like my lips - glossy!

xo

Multi Coloured Manicures

Here is a new trend that has been popping up everywhere: multi colored manicures. Here is Lauren Conrad rocking the new hot trend. I love it! I think it is fresh and fun when done with the right colours. I saw a girl earlier this week wearing five different neon colours and it looked amazing! What do you think? Yay or nay?

Ocean Love Potion Sephora by OPI & Essie's Matte About You

Two weeks ago, I got really bored at work and started messing up my manicure. I peeled off all of my nail polish and of course regretted it right off the bat. I hate not having nail polish on. After my destructive behaviour had passed I started thinking about what colour to re-paint them with. Of course, all of my options did not please me in anyway. I decided that I needed a new colour and started my journey off to Sephora. Upon my arrival, I noticed a lot of greens and blues, shades I hadn’t tried since the sixth grade. I opted for a shade called Ocean Love Potion by OPI for Sephora. It’s a limited edition shade and it is uber cute! The swatch below is exactly what I looks like on.
It’s a great shade for fingers and toes.

Now let’s move from OPI to Essie. Essie has created a mattifying finisher called Matte about You. This top coat will take the shine out of any nail colour and you leave you with a perfect matte finish. If you are totally over shiny nails then this is for you.

Hot Mess Monday - Chloe Sevigny

My eyes hurt. This is just wrong. Here is Chloe Sevigny at A Magazine’s launch party in LA. She is wearing a heinous leather jumpsuit by Proenza Schouler. A leather jumpsuit?! Why Chloe?! Why?! Is it because you are dying for attention?! You look wretched! Your hair is a mess, you face is a mess and the only way your hideous jumpsuit would be appropriate would be if Halle Berry was wearing it for Batman. I know you have awful style and that you usually look like a giant mess, but this is just taking it way too far. In Chloe’s world, it is Hot Mess Monday everyday.

Lancôme Hypnose Drama & Ôscillation Powerbooster

Lancôme is amazing when it comes to cosmetics. I especially like their mascaras. My favorite mascara by Lancôme has got to be Hypnose. It is just simply amazing. Needless to say, I am extremely excited to announce that they are releasing Hypnose Drama. Ekk, I can’t wait to try it. Hypnose Drama is supposed to give more volume then the regular Hypnose. It comes with an s-shaped brush that grabs your lashes and fans them out, giving them extreme volume for dramatic results. It has pro-vitamin B5 and stays on longer and better than most mascara brands but comes off nice and easy at night. The second this hits the shelves, it is mine.

That’s not it for Lancôme ladies. Your primer just got vibrating power. Lancôme is releasing the first vibrating primer to help boost the look of your natural lashes. Ôscillation Powerbooster contains Crescentia™ complex, which is a conditioning formula that improves the strength of your lashes. Apply it under your mascara and see the difference. I have been using their Cil Booster XL and I can see a difference in my lashes when I wear it under my regular mascara. Can’t wait to try this!

Fabulous Friday - Khloe Kardashian

How hot does khloe Kardashian look in that picture? She is usually stuck in the shadows of her two sisters, but I think she looks stunning. Here she is at the Aces & Angels event, wearing a lovely one shoulder Laila Azhar dress in sapphire blue, white Christian Louboutin platforms and snake skin clutch by Adriana Castro. I absolutely love this outfit, minus the clutch and that is only because I hate snakes more than anything. Khloe's make up is absolutely flawless as well, but then again, the Kardashian sisters always have there make up just right!!

Happy Friday!

Perfekt Beauty Perfection Gel

I got a lot of wonderful presents for my birthday this year. One of my gifts included Perfekt Beauty’s Skin Perfection Gel to Go. My friend Sarah has been obsessing about this product for so long and wanted to me to try it. The texture of this product is amazing. It glides on effortlessly and it feels incredible. It is kind of like a low coverage concealer and foundation in one. It improves skin tone, reduces redness and helps minimize the appearance of large pores. It also contains antioxidants such as alpha lipoic acid and vitamins A & E to help protect your skin. I found it to be really moisturizing and I have extremely dry skin. It did give my skin a nice glow but because it does not cover it up as well as concealers and foundations you may have to go over it to gain a completely flawless look. This product is really great for summer time when you don’t want to have a ton of make up on. It is also sweat-resistant and water-resistant which is a huge plus. Perfekt Beauty’s Skin Perfection Gel is a bit on the pricy side so if you are unsure, try purchasing the smaller size to see if it is the right product for you. I love it so much just because of the texture and how soft it makes my skin feel, I may have to purchase the large size…

Pulse Perfection Vibrating Mascara by Maybelline

The world of cosmetics welcome’s Maybelline’s first vibrating mascara. Pulse Perfection Vibrating Mascara vibrates 7000 times per stroke. It provides clump free definition, intense colour and shine. It is currently available in Very Black and Intense Back in waterproof and washable formulas. This mascara builds volume, length and adds curl. If you haven’t tried a vibrating mascara and don’t want to purchase the department store brands, this may be the one for you since it will be priced considerably lower.
Try it and let me know what you think!

Hot Mess Monday - Jessica Simpson

Hot Mess Monday would like to present – Jessica Simpson. Here is Jessica looking extremely fug in Maryland at the AT & T Golf Tournament. She was chosen to sing the national anthem. Not only did she torture the ears of the poor souls present, but she also did a number on their eyes. Simpson’s heinous red and navy striped sheath dress is by Michael Kors. Michael, you disappointment me more than you please me. This dress couldn’t be any more hideous on Simpson. It makes her look extremely wide and chunky. Either the dress just doesn’t fit right, which seems to be the issue, or it is a miss for any body type.

On to her hair and make up – disappointment. Ken Paves needs to step it up. Her hair is boring and way to yellowish blonde. Her make up is not working for her either. Her lips are way too pale and blending in with her fake and bake a bit too much. Overall, I hate everything about this look. Jessica Simpson, you fail. The only good thing going for her is the fact that her ex-hubby and that ugly girl that he dated right after their divorce have finally called it quits.

Happy Monday people, although there is not happy about it since Friday seems to be a decade away.

Fabulous Friday - Kim Kardashian

It’s Friday!!! This week’s edition of Fabulous Friday features Kim Kardashian. Here she is last night in New York hosting the Three – O Vodka Bubble Launch Party. I absolutely adore her outfit! Of course, she had her stylist help her pick it out, but nonetheless she looks amazing. I love the zebra print dress paired with the fantastic white boyfriend blazer. I would love to know who her dress is by – it is stunning! I love that she opted for a turquoise clutch to add a pop of colour. I have a major shoes fetish and I think her Giuseppe Zanotti cut out booties make the entire outfit super sexy. Aldo has a great replica that I absolutely adore and may need to add to my collection...

Here is a close up of her make up; her dramatic eyes are paired perfectly with nude lips. This is, hands down, my absolutely favorite make up look.

Happy Friday everyone!!!
